THE DOOR TO DOOR
DIFFERENCE

Anyone can transport someone from one place to another, but at the Shepherd’s Center we strive to build positive relationships along the way. Here you are not simply a ‘fare’, you are a valued person. We promote an atmosphere of respect and compassion where our riders feel safe and taken care of. All of our Volunteer Drivers are paired with individuals to create connections when possible. This allows our staff and drivers to really get to know our passengers so we can sense if there is a change that needs to be brought to the attention of their support network. Peace of mind for our seniors and their family is our top priority.

To ensure we can best serve each person’s needs, all Riders must register before rides can be scheduled. A quick call to our office at (269) 383-1122 can get the process started. Thus, if someone needs extra time, care, or help to get from the house to the car, we area ware and at the ready.

TESTIMONIALS

quote
“Some years ago I developed serious health issues and had to give up driving. This became a great hardship for both me and my husband as we still had young children at home. Even though my husband and friends were supportive, no one knew how isolated I began to feel.”

– ANONYMOUS, Rider

quote
“The drivers, volunteers who give freely of their time, vehicles, gasoline, and more, provide rides to those of us who are unable to get about on our own steam. The drivers I’ve had have been kind, courteous, and safe, some sharing personal anecdotes which make rides interesting and fun, and all are generous with their care and time.”

– ANONYMOUS, Rider

quote
“Having to stop driving was like getting my wings clipped. Not being able to move myself through my life has been difficult even up to the present but having ‘ride support’ has been a blessing and gift that keeps on giving.”
